Your result for What Planet are You From? Test...
You are from the Moon!
27% Moon

Okay, yes, I know the moon is not a planet.
The moon, is, however, the Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest natural satellite in our solar system. For this reason alone it could be that it has life on it, right? Yes, there have been many explorations to prove otherwise, but for many years people on Earth believed that the moon was inhabited. It is also the only celestial body that man has stepped upon.
There are a dozen gods and goddesses associated with the moon. The word Lunar, which relates to the moon’s cycle, is from the Latin word Lunar. One of the reasons that people tend to associate a female deity with the moon might be related to the female menstrual cycle. With that said, it’s is definitely time to move along before I get myself in trouble.
What does this say about you?
You desire contact with the world around you. You have a loving and nurturing nature, but you can suffer from mood changes and go through cycles. You aren’t afraid to stand up for what you believe in or to even stand up for the little guy that tends to get beat up on or forgotten. You probably even tend to put other people before yourself.
As a child of the moon you have a cold and warm side. When someone wrongs you it better be something they never do again. You may forgive them once, but you will never forget and a second time can cut them totally out of your life. You can be the life of the party, but only if it suits you. You are just as happy finding a few people that you can talk to and more than likely there are very few people that you can’t talk to.
You probably usually have a smile on your face and make people feel comfortable with you. You are just one of those people that others open up to and then wonder why.
So, moon child, in a way you are just like the tide. You ebb and flow in life and you like it best when you are in control.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Or not.
I am still doggedly going through one box at a time looking for everything. There is nothing around here that shows that Christmas is right around the corner. With the exception of a festive snowman hand towel in the bathroom and some placemats on the dining room table.
My attitude shows the Christmas Spirit the least. My kids are having issues at the new school and I'm trying to find other options for their education. I feel like the hubby and I are strangers. This house is already getting torn up by the destructive crew. Er, I mean my darling little angels.
So I'm off trying to sort things out and regain my sense of humor. I'm afraid I'm loosing it piece by piece. I need to cut that out. My laugh might be all I have at the end of this road. It sure won't be my sanity.

A lot of Madness
You know those weeks. We all have them. The weeks where everything seems to not go quite as smoothly as you like. That's the week I'm having.
I'm putting on a brave smile and going fourth with everything I have to accomplish.
My kids are in school, so that is a huge plus. I had to chuckle at my oldest son last night. His Opa asked him in what ways his new school is different than his old one. A seemingly innocent enough question; but I had already told Opa some of the huge differences. Such as armed security at the school. An entirely different atmosphere. Huge discipline issues within the school and on the buses. And the buses! We have to walk a little ways to get to our bus stop, which is the bus stop for the entire area. We are talking like 30 kids right now, and that number will only go up as more people move in. The bus stop is madness. The bus is divided. Boys on one side, and girls on the other. The differences just go on and on. Well, back to my point. Opa asked my oldest...and do you know what that sweetheart of a boy said? "I get to have pizza every day for lunch if I want to, and it's much spicier than my old school. I love it!"
I only wish I had my children's resiliency right now.

A little bit of madness
Will go a long way.
I think I am spreading my madness around nicely. The movers came today and my house is a complete pit. Not for lack of effort, mind you. I made a huge effort and had the house looking decent, and then a tornado swooped down the chimney and messed every thing up. It was an amazing sight. So fast! So chaotic! I just had no time to stop it.
The movers were working with me, thank goodness! I had two rooms ready for them, so they started there, and then I finished the basement and they packed it up, too. I cleaned the living room while they were here and they complimented me on it. I thought that was nice. The told me to pace myself and they had faith that I can get the rest of the house looking as nice. I tried not to snicker. I am trying. Really, I am. I'm pooped right now, though.
To go with my stress of the house, the Hubby is "missing." No word from him all day. I called my Dad and my Dad said he has heard from him, so I guess that is something. I am waiting to hear if he gets to come home or not. I figure he must be hiding on that evil giant tin can. I'm not very good at waiting for information.
I guess I'll keep plugging along.

Trick of the Eye?
Or the real thing?
I accidentally inhaled a bite of food whole and was gasping and trying to cough. Then I saw a flash of glowing white out of the corner of my eye, and then I was able to cough and I'm fine.
Seriously.
This all happened in like 10 seconds.
I didn't even have time to get frightened; in fact I was very calm.
I know, ten seconds is not a lot of time.
I thanked my Guardian Angel and God for sending him or her.

Who knew?
I have heard of people slow cooking cube steak with cream of mushroom soup. At least I think that is how I came up with the idea. Who knew it was so delish? For sixteen years I have been making cube steak how my mom made it. Dip it seasoned flour, then egg, then then seasoned flour again and frying it in oil. I didn't know there was another way to make it. Oh my gosh, this is one of the best lunches I've had in a long time!
Now if I only had some mashed potatoes...

The News
I stopped watching the news a lot time ago right after the Russian Subarine (the Kursk) sank. It just so happened the the Hubby was on his last month of a six month deployment. I had no idea where he was. Then I was watching TV and a Breaking News update came on saying "A submarine sank in the Barents Sea."
That was it.
Just that "A submarine sank in the Barents Sea." Not "A Russian submarine sank in the Barents Sea." Just "a submarine". I was beside myself until I found out the facts, and then I was infuriated with how the tragedy was handled. I was so upset knowing that there were ships nearby ready and willing to help and help was refused. So all 118 of those men on board were lost. I was haunted with that fact for a very long time. Having a Hubby who rides around on Submarines...knowing stuff like this can and does happen causes me undue stress. I just have to give him over to God.
So I stopped watching the news, but then people would call me. "Hey, did you hear about that American Submarine that crashed?" Or "Hey, did you hear about that American Submarine that hit the fishing boats?" So now I do skim the news on a daily basis online. So I can have names and facts. But I don't look at "Breaking News." I wait until all the particulars are in place, and then I read about the event.
I was disheartened to read this article over the weekend.

Accident on Russian Sub Suffocates 20By VLADIMIR ISACHENKOV, AP
posted: 10 HOURS 41 MINUTES AGOcomments: 183filed under: World NewsPrintShareText SizeAAAMOSCOW (Nov. 8) - The fire safety system on a brand-new Russian nuclear submarine accidentally turned on as the sub was being tested in the Sea of Japan, spewing a gas that suffocated 20 people and sent 21 others to the hospital, officials said Sunday.
The Russian Navy said the submarine itself was not damaged in Saturday's accident and returned to its base on Russia's Pacific coast under its own power Sunday. The accident also did not pose any radiation danger, the navy said.
NTV Russian Channel/AP
At least 20 people died Saturday when a fire safety system malfunctioned in this submarine, shown here on Russian television.
Yet it was Russia's worst naval accident since torpedo explosions sank another nuclear-powered submarine, the Kursk, in the Barents Sea in 2000, killing all 118 seamen aboard.
Overcrowding may have been a significant factor on Saturday.
The submarine being tested had 208 people aboard, including 81 seamen, according to Russian navy spokesman Capt. Igor Dygalo. Yet Russian news agencies said a sub of this type normally carries only a crew of 73.
"A submarine is the most vulnerable during trials. With both navy and civilian personnel on board, it's very dificult to keep such a large number of people organized," Gennady Illarionov, a retired submarine officer, told the RIA Novosti news agency.
The victims suffocated after the submarine's fire-extinguishing system released Freon gas, said Vladimir Markin, an official with Russia's top investigative agency. He said forensic tests found Freon in the victims' lungs.
Seventeen civilians and three seamen died in the accident and 21 others were hospitalized after being evacuated to shore, Dygalo said, adding that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
"The submarine's nuclear reactor was operating normally and radiation levels were normal," Dygalo said, explaining that the accident affected two sections of the submarine closest to the bow.
Markin's agency, the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor General's office, has launched a probe into the accident, which he said will focus on what activated the firefighting system and possible violations of submarine operating rules.
Lev Fyodorov, a top Russian chemical expert, agreed that the Freon pushed oxygen out, causing those inside to die of suffocation. But he wondered why the individual breathing kits that everyone on board is supposed to have did not keep people from dying.
"People on board the sub may have failed to use their breathing equipment when they found themselves in an emergency," he told the AP.
Igor Kurdin, a retired navy officer who heads an association of former submariners, told Ekho Moskvy radio that the high death toll probably resulted from shipyard workers who lacked experience in dealing with the breathing kits.
A siren warning the crew that the firefighting system was turning on also may have failed, RIA Novosti quoted an unidentified navy official as saying, so those on board might not have realized that Freon was being released until it was too late.
The submarine returned Sunday to Bolshoi Kamen, a military shipyard and a navy base near Vladivostok. Officials at the Amur Shipbuilding Factory said they built the submarine and it is called the Nerpa. Dygalo said it was to be commissioned by the navy later this year.
Construction of the Nerpa, an Akula II class attack submarine, started in 1991 but was suspended for years because of a shortage of funding, they said. Testing on the submarine began last month and it submerged for the first time last week.
The U.S.-based intelligence risk assessment agency Stratfor said the Akula is an established design, with the Nerpa being the 11th ship of the class.
"Such a catastrophic accident calls into question the way the Russian navy has sustained its institutional knowledge in terms of design expertise, not to mention issues of quality control, both in fabrication and inspection," Stratfor said.
Saturday's accident came as the Kremlin is seeking to restore Russia's naval reach, part of a drive to show off the nuclear-armed country's clout amid strained ties with the West. A naval squadron is heading to Venezuela for joint exercises this month in a show of force near U.S. waters.
Despite a major boost in military spending during Vladimir Putin's eight years as president, Russia's military is still hampered by decrepit infrastructure, aging weapons and problems with corruption and incompetence.
Illarionov said the accident appeared to reflect the loss of crucial skills in conducting sea trials.
"During the Soviet times, we commissioned three to five submarines a year, and now we get just one in five years," Illarionov was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying. "People forgot caution and lost their skills."
The Kremlin said President Dmitry Medvedev was told about the accident immediately and ordered a thorough investigation. Putin, now prime minister, was criticized for his slow response to the Kursk disaster.
In 2003, 11 people also died when a Russian submarine that was being taken out of service sank in the Barents Sea.

I of course asked the Hubby if it could happen to him. I didn't get a straight answer, but I didn't expect one. I know I can't know details.
Dear Lord in Heaven,
I pray for the civilans and Seamen who were lost this weekend. I pray for their family and friends. I pray for you to give them strength and understanding during this difficult time. Hold them close and show them your love.
Amen

Hanging on tight
So I've canceled our HIPPY appointment today. I hated doing it, but I have my fingernails dug into the edge of my sanity and I'm hanging on tight. I spent an hour on the phone this morning trying to repair the happenings of yesterday. I just want to give Lowe's a ^5 for being so awesome. Some poor man with a terrible cold was on the phone with me for like 30 minutes trying to find us in the system as having purchased a replacement/extended warrenty. I am positive we did because we bought the range for dirt cheap. It had been sitting in the storage room and was covered in two inches of dust and didn't come with a manual or anything. So we bought the replacement warrenty "just in case." I can't find the paperwork, and the man was so nice and cool. He entered us into the system as having a service warrenty based on my word and he is sending me a new receipt. He asked me to put it in a safe place. How cool is that? Now, I don't know if he gave us a complimentary replacement warrenty, so I'll have to dig it up this weekend just in case. This same thing happened to our dishwasher, and we replaced it. It was fried. Positive thoughts that I find our warrnety and receipt! It's here somewhere. I *never* throw anything away. Just ask the Hubby. ::snickers::
I did find my kitty last night. It took some work, but I managed to cage him and set him up with a blanket, litter box, and food and water in my bathroom. I didn't want him around the other cats until I have him looked at. I didn't want the kids to pester him, either. He's resting comfortably and I am getting ready to rush out the door to take him to the vet. Egads! I just looked at the time.
Cio.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
The good: The little boy I care for was early today so I earned a little extra money.
The ugly: I was just wearing a bra and standing on my landing where anyone who cared to look could see me when he arrived.
The Good: I think I ducked into my room and wrangled myself into some clothes in the nick of time.
The good: Today was a beautiful day. Warm weather, clear skies, beautiful colors.
The bad: I woke up to blood all over the house. One of my kitties is injured. :(
The ugly: I figured out which kitty it was, but he won't let me tend to his wound. I need to get him into the vet tomorrow.
The good: I baked two loaves of yummy pumpkin bread.
The bad: I didn't get to finish making the taco rings for dinner.
The Ugly: My oven element flashed white and made a zapping sound, then started smoking and burning while I was heating up the oven for dinner.
The Good: I didn't get electrocuted. Scared the poo out of me, though! I flung half cooked ground beef across the kitchen.
The good: I was able to spend time with family and friends today.
The bad: I didn't get to work on my house much.
The ugly: My house...on the inside.
The good: I mowed all of my grass and the yard is almost ready for winter.

Digging Deep
I have been reading this blog http://diaryofadyingmom.blogspot.com/ piece by piece. It is slow going due to the fact that each entry calls for me to pause and reflect on my life and who I am. And yes, to cry a little or a lot. Her story breaks my heart; her strength boosts me up. Her brother's recent dedication...looking for God and finding him...clicks many things into place for me. She has peace at last...pain free in God's paradise.

Housing
So, housing has been accepted.
It's scary and exciting all at the same time.
I need to get busy around here.
I'll publicly list my daily lists. Maybe that will encourage me because I don't want to look lame having crossed off nothing. Hahaha!
Bold is done!
Monday List
1.) Gather trash and take to curb.
2.) Start with Living room then. Box all toys to get rid of. Separate into "Sunday School" and "Vets" piles. Through away broken or unusable toys. Clean out the drawers in the video game desk. I bet I can donate or throw most of that stuff away. I haven't touched it in over four years.
3.) Tidy kitchen, clean off Island.
4.) Do Laundry.
5.) Change everyone's sheets.
6.) Wash my blankets.
7.) Fold and put away laundry.
8.) Go through my room and pull out the rest of the clothes to donate.
9.) Martial arts tonight.
10.) Scoop Kitty Box.
11.) Got to WalMart.
12.) Pick up some twigs outside and put out to the curb for trash pick up.
It's always so much easier for me to have a starting point instead of just looking at my messy house and starting. I never know where to begin. Now I have a place.
::trounces off to do it::

A new baby in the family
Apparently one of my step-sisters had a baby on Halloween. Sadly, I'm not even sure I remember her being pregnant. She's had a couple miscarriages, so maybe I somehow missed this pregnancy. I don't keep in touch with them and my Dad only passes on information when he feels like it.
At any rate, I'm very happy for her and congratulations on the birth! S is unhappy about having her baby girl on Halloween. I hope she realizes that the day is still her little girl's birthday and that is what matters. Mom and baby are doing well. Baby may have a clubfoot, but God will hold her in his hands and she will be fine.
Welcome to the world, Little Baby L.

Politics and children
How do you explain Politics to your children? Seriously. My almost nine-year-old kind of gets it. I don't know where my seven-year-old stands. Now my five-year-old...I think I just confused him entirely. I was reading the news and I was exclaiming over how even more people are going to be Anti-American. I don't think I used that exact termininology, but that is basically what I was talking about. My son wanted to know what I was talking about. So I explained it like this:
"You know how there are a lot of different countries all over the world? Let's pretend they are houses. And in each house, the people who live there have their own rules and their own way of living. (We spent a minute talking about camels and cars and huts and caves and houses, lol.) Well, you know how when you go into someone's house to visit, and you might accidentally break something and then the people who live there aren't happy with you? Or you broke their house rules? Well, that's what America did. We went into someone's country (house) and broke something and now more people that live in all the other countries (houses) are going to be upset with us. All the people in all the countries (houses) can't agree all the time because we all live with different rules."
I don't think he got it. lol So I did not go on to tell him about a really bad person who lived in one of the houses who wanted the rest of the houses to follow his rules. That would have really confused him! LOL
So how do you explain this stuff to young children who want to know?

Men are so funny
I was on the phone with Alan and he was all like "I want to go to the NEX to buy a hot pad for my back."
I knew what he meant, but I just had to jibe him about it. "A hot pad, huh. Just in case you have to lie on a hot cookie sheet or something."
Of course I knew he meant heating pad, but I just thought it was so funny. This 29 year old man who is telling me he wants to go out and buy a hot pad for his back. I think he should get one of those ones with a chicken on it, or maybe a cow. That would be nice.

You know you are fat when...
You know you are fat when a three-year-old is chattering away to your own three-year-old son and you turn around to smile at him, and he suddenly says "You are fat!" Then when you blink and ask him what he said, he says "I love you!" You know he just said the latter so you wouldn't comment on the first. I chose to let it go, because let's face it - I am fat. Not that I think he needs to be blurting it out or anything. But I didn't make a big deal over it - this time.
It's not like it's the first time a small child has said that to me. They say what they see. I know that.

It's a Miracle!
I filled my gas tank for less than $38 today. HOLY COW!
It has been costing me around $60 for the last year. I was so happy and thrilled that gas didn't break the bank today. It will probably be cheaper later in the week, but that's OK. I'm happy to get it at $2.79 a gallon.

(Oct. 10) - Clara Meadmore, who celebrates her 105th birthday Saturday, says she knows the secret to a long life: no sex.
The retired secretary, who lives in a nursing home in Cornwall, southwestern Britain, says she is a virgin and has no regrets about it, according to reports in British newspapers.
Splash News
Clara Meadmore celebrates her 105th birthday on Saturday. Among those wishing her well is Queen Elizabeth II, who sent the retired secretary a birthday card.
"I've always had lots of platonic friendships with men but never felt the need to go further than that or marry," The Telegraph quoted her as saying.
Meadmore said she had turned down several marriage proposals, but she made up her mind when she was 12 that she would never marry.
"People have asked whether I am a homosexual and the answer is no. I have just never been interested in or fancied having sex," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
"I imagine there is a lot of hassle involved and I have always been busy doing other things," she said. "When I was a girl you only had sex with your husband -- and I never married."
Meadmore was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1903 -– two years after the death of Queen Victoria. She remembers the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. When she was 7, her family moved first to Egypt, then to Canada and New Zealand. She returned to Britain when she was in her 20s and eventually settled in Cornwall, according to the newspaper reports.
"I grew up in an era where little girls were to be seen and not heard so I had to learn to stand up for myself and earn my own living," said Meadmore, who still has her own hair and teeth. "Some men don't like that in a woman and before long I was too old to marry anyway."
She plans to celebrate her 105th birthday with a party at the Perran Bay nursing home, where she lives in Perranporth, Cornwall. Queen Elizabeth II sent her a birthday card.
Meadmore said she would probably have a glass of wine to celebrate but not more. "I'm hardly likely to get drunk and do something silly at my age," she said.

My Ears
So, anybody following my ear difficulties might be interested in this. I had Vestibular Assessment with VNG (Videonystagmography) done last week. There were a few different parts of the test. Eleven parts to be exact. Nine of them came back within normal limits. Two of them came back abnormal. The "High-Frequency Head Shake Nystagmus Test" came back abnormal. There was a lot of technical terms and stuff I don't understand. But I have a 17 degree abnormality on the right ear there, whatever that means. The other test that came back abnormal is the one that baffled them. It's called the Bithermal Caloric Stimulation. Basically, they put a tube with a warm air flow in my ears and then a cool air flow. My left ear came back OK, but my right ear didn't react at all. Nothing. Zip. Nada. They said they have never seen that before. They put warm air in my right ear four times trying to make sure it wasn't a technical error. Nope. Just my broken ear. They said there was no caloric weakness, but I have a 100% left directional preponderance. The guy explained it to me saying that in balance and motion, everything moves to the left for me and my right ear doesn't contribute to my balance. I can see how that would send me into stints of vertigo, lol. So I have a 100% abnormality in my right ear. What can I say, I'm an abnormal kind of gal. I have to wait for the ENT to review the report before I know what comes next.
The report I was sent from the place of my test said my results *could support my ENT's hypothesis of Meniere's Disease. We shall see.

My AOL Blog
Is now a part of Blogger. E-mail me for the address. :-) It seems to all be there. All four years of it. I'm so sad I had to move it, but I'm thrilled that I have all the memories so I can print at my leisure! I should have made it private, but I forgot to do it before I published it. If some of the transferred videos don't work, it's because I disabled them on purpose. :-)

Eve's side of the story
Eve's side of the story...
After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve.
"So, how is everything going?" inquired God.
"It is all so beautiful, God," she replied.
"The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is
wonderful, but I have just one problem. It's these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I am constantly knocking them with my arms,
catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They're a real pain,"
reported Eve.
And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc...she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more 'symmetrically balanced'.
"That's a fair point," replied God, "But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fixit up right away."
And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes.
Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden.
"Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?"
"Just fantastic," she replied, "but for one oversight. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone."
God thought for a moment and said, "You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Let's see...where did I put the useless boob?"
Now doesn't THAT make more sense than that story about the rib?

A little girl asked her father:
'How did the human race appear?'
The father answered, 'God made Adam and Eve;
They had children; and so was all mankind made.'
Two days later the girl asked her mother the same question.
The mother answered,
'Many years ago there were monkeys from
Which the human race evolved.'
The confused girl returned to her father and said,
'Dad, how is it possible that you told me the
Human race was created by God,
And Mom said they developed from monkeys?'
The father answered,
'Well, Dear, it is very simple.
I told you about my side of the family,
And your mother told you about hers.'

You gotta love this Sign
You have to love when you are driving down a quiet road in a small town and you see a huge orange construction sign that reads:
"Inmate work crew Ahead. Please Lock your doors! NO stopping or standing."
Now, I am 100% for putting the residents of the County Jail to work. I was just amused at the way the sign read. LOL I of course immediately locked my doors because I noticed the Inmates ahead were not "chain gangs." They looked like any Tom, Dick, or Harry on the street wearing an orange vest. Each group did have a guard with them picking up trash, but the guards didn't have a rifle like you see on the Highways around here. So I chose to follow directions and lock my door. Kudos to them for picking up the trash on a hot day like today.
Not that they had a choice. No, wait...yes they did. They didn't have to commit a crime. :-)

A Hello

I want to use this blog more. It's hard to get used to after using AOL Blog for so long. I have had my Blog on AOL for almost four years! That's just amazing to me when I think about it. I had three children with one more on the way. My five year old wasn't even two yet. It just boggles my mind!
Tonight was back to school night. I can't believe all four of my children will be going to school this year. I have a third grader, a second grader, a Kindergartner and a Preschooler. How crazy is that? They are all so excited. I'm excited! I back to school time. Autum is my favorite screening, I can get school/office supplies for dirt cheap, and I get peace and quiet during the day! A routine! I can't wait!
I will miss my kiddos, though. It's always bittersweet when I see them get on the school bus the first day of school. On one hand I want to pull out the blender and the Daquari mix and dance the day away. On the other hand, I just want to hide in my bed with a box of tissues and cry all day. My last two babies are leaving the next. I can't believe my five-year-old is in Kindergarten! He has been going to the school for two years of Preschool, but it's so final now. My youngest is just excited about having his own back pack! LOL
School, here we come!

A funny I heard
I'm going to have to remember this one.
A man boarded a plane with 6 kids. After they got settled in their seats a woman sitting across the aisle from him leaned over to him and asked, 'Are all of those kids yours?'He replied, 'No. I work for a condom company. These are customer complaints.'
